the first of many to come

After missing the first two birthdays for our sweet boy, this birthday with Sam was so incredibly precious to us, making us all the more thankful to celebrate with him at home!

In keeping with our Birthday Week tradition, we have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Sam and his birthday.  It was a week of seeking out the best places to eat macaroni-and-cheese, hot dog suppers, trips to a few of Sam's favorite places, and of course, presents.  It was a week of making up for lost time; a week of thanksgiving to the One who brought Sam home; a week of celebration, laughter, and joy.

Sam, I can't believe you're three years old!  It seems like yesterday that we were seeing your sweet, baby face for the first time!  May year Number Three bring you plenty of little boy adventures, uninterrupted hours of playtime,  additional choo-choos to add to your ever-growing collection, and joy unending!  Always remember, you are the child of our heart, and we'll love you forever and ever and ever!
